Stressed availability of food:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Heat wave:\u00a0 <\/strong>Rise in heatwave leading to poor quality of grains. E.g. short grain wheat production in India in 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Locust Attack:<\/strong> Increased prevalence of pest attacks. E.g.. locust a<strong>ttacks in Pakistan and India<\/strong> during 2018-2021. Haryana, M.P, U.P, Rajasthan reported crop damage up t<strong>o 33% of sown area<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Rising Sea Surface Temperature: <\/strong>Leads to <strong>migration of fish stocks<\/strong> towards colder waters leading to reduced catch. E.g. Health hazard affecting assimilation of food:&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>According to WHO, climate change is impacting health due to extreme events such as heatwaves, storms, vector-borne diseases leading to increased frequency of pandemics and health hazards.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>This Leads to decreased assimilative capacity along with strain on food production&nbsp; eventually leading to imperiled food security. E.g., MERS,2012; Ebola,2014-2016 in west Africa.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"D_Effects_on_Accessibility_of_food\"><\/span><strong>D<\/strong>. Effects on Accessibility of food:&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Inflation along with crop failures put pressure on the public distribution system leading to poor accessibility of grains.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Torrential rainfall along with humid weather leads to increased spoilage of stored grains.
