The gotra system Arised .No widow remarried .&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>family<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/td><td>Head &#8211; male , patriarchy&nbsp;<\/td><td>patriarchy&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Social structure&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/td><td>egalitarian , absence of strict social hierarchy&nbsp;<\/td><td>society got divided into 4 varnas , absence of social mobility .&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Status of women<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/td><td>Women education allowed &#8211; e.g.- Gargi. Participated in Sabha and samiti .&nbsp;<\/td><td>Very few got education.
