<strong>labour-intensive manufacturing <\/strong>such as textiles, toys, footwear, auto components, sports goods and agricultural processing.\u00a0<\/li><li>Sectors like <strong>restaurants, hotels, mining and construction, healthcare and caregiving <\/strong>services have huge potential.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>For the <strong>manufacturing sector<\/strong> to grow, the following areas need to be focused upon:\u00a0<ul><li>Infrastructure development to reduce trade and transaction costs,\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Trade facilitation measures,\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>A better IPR ecosystem,\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Ease of doing business on the ground, and\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Rationalisation of labour laws and the taxation system.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/edukemy.com\/fd830437-b8fd-4043-aad2-6e769847f156\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>MSMEs<\/strong> need support in improving competitiveness, achieving scale, digital infrastructure, technology up-grade and branding to be part of a larger supply chain and the global value chains.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Path_to_a_productive_labour_force\"><\/span><strong>Path to a productive labour id=\"Skilling_reskilling_and_up-skilling\"><\/span><strong>Skilling, reskilling and up-skilling\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>93 percent of the employment in India is absorbed by the unorganised sector, where workers are employed in underpaid jobs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Skilling can help India reap the demographic dividend and be a source of labour supply for the world by making the labour force more productive and efficient.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Skill development programmes such as the <strong>Jan Shikshan Sansthan, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme<\/strong> are welcome steps.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>The skill mission has the MSDE Vision 2025 in sight <\/strong>which is set to improve linkages between education and skill, catalyse demand for formal skills and create a high-skilled ecosystem.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Quality_health_facilities\"><\/span><strong>Quality health facilities<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Though India is a pharmaceutical giant with a $50 billion industry and is a global leader in vaccines, accounting for about 60 percent of DPT, BCG and measles vaccines, it has to assure for the majority of the population:\u00a0<ul><li><strong>Scaled up access<\/strong> and quality health services,\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Affordable drug prices<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Reduced out-of-pocket expenditure<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Financial medical protection<\/strong> in terms of universal insurance, and\u00a0<\/li><li>Quality health <strong>infrastructure.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Health equity has been assured to a great extent by reforms such as\u00a0\u00a0<ul><li><strong>Ayushman Bharat,<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Swachh Bharat Mission,\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Quality education facilities<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>The delivery of <strong>quality education up to higher secondary education to all <\/strong>is imperative for making a productive labour force.\u00a0<\/li><li>The <strong>National Education Policy 2020<\/strong> has been brought about that gives importance to updating knowledge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>It also aims at ensuring productive employment opportunities and dignified work as listed in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>The <strong>Samagra Shiksha programme<\/strong> was launched in 2018 to provide inclusive, equitable and quality education at all levels of school education.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The next 30 years belong to India provided we accelerate our reforms and achieve the desired results of flagship programmes of Skill India, Make in India, Start-up India, and others.
