Moscow\u2019s veto on Kashmir <\/strong>in the United Nations Security Council became a perennial justification for Delhi to bite its tongue on Soviet transgressions of the international order.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>India refused to criticise the Russian annexation of Crimea <\/strong>through military occupation and a referendum in 2014.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<div India\u2019s much-needed rethink on European security<\/strong> as his views on Ukraine and European security are quite different from those in the US, Britain and some Central European China unveiled their \u201cpartnership without limits\u201d <\/strong>just weeks before Moscow invaded Ukraine.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The important but unfinished debate in NATO on dealing with the China challenge points to the inevitable <strong>integration of European and Asian theatres<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Frances_positions_on_China\"><\/span><strong>France\u2019s positions on China\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"wp-embed\"><li>India would like to be aware of it since it has generated some controversy in Asia.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>India would also want to know how serious France and Europe are on \u201cde-risking\u201d their economic ties with China and diversifying their Asian commercial engagement with India and other partners.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span weapons<\/strong> is at the top of the dialogue.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>This would help reduce the burden on Europe as well, to contribute directly to Asian security.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"wp-embed\"><li>The war in Ukraine has given India a rare political incentive to recalibrate its European strategy.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>For India, it is not a question of taking sides between Russia and Europe on Ukraine.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>China is already positioning itself for such an eventuality with its so-called peace plan for Ukraine.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>India, which has big stakes in European peace, could be an equally valuable, if not better, interlocutor between the West and
