cooperation<\/strong>\u2019 under the new FOIP have been outlined:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Principles_for_peace_and_rules_for_prosperity\"><\/span><strong>Principles for peace and rules for prosperity<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vulnerable countries usually suffer the most if there is an erosion in the rule of law.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Therefore, Japan wants to engage in economic development programmes such as <strong>promoting the implementation of the G-20 Principles for \u201cQuality Infrastructure Investment\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/edukemy.com\/7ccefb8e-4eaf-4a6b-abaf-47652f8c6980\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Addressing_challenges_in_an_Indo-Pacific_way\"><\/span><strong>Addressing challenges in an Indo-Pacific way<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under this pillar, Japan talks about expansion of cooperation for the FOIP by incorporating realistic and practical projects in a wide range of areas, such as <strong>climate change, food security, global health and cybersecurity<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Multi-layered_connectivity\"><\/span><strong>Multi-layered connectivity<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under the third pillar, the three areas identified for introducing more such projects are Southeast Asia, South Asia and the South Pacific\/Pacific Island countries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Japan has made a new commitment of $100 million towards the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund which will promote\u00a0\u00a0<ul><li>the <strong>Bay of Bengal-Northeast India industrial value chain concept in cooperation with India and Bangladesh<\/strong>, and\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>the new <strong>Palau International Airport Terminal project<\/strong> (an archipelago in the western Pacific Ocean).\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Extending efforts for security and safe use of the \u201csea\u201d to the \u201cair\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/edukemy.com\/96143fba-89b4-4614-9290-0bdc9d20f4b7\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under the fourth pillar, Japan will help in strengthening the capabilities of maritime law enforcement agencies in other countries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Towards these objectives, Japan will\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Implement the \u201cstrategic use of Official Development Assistance (ODAs)\u201d;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Revise the Development Cooperation Charter;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Set forth guidelines for ODA for the next 10 years; and\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Introduce an \u201coffer-type\u201d cooperation and a new framework for \u201cprivate capital mobilisation-type\u201d grant aid.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Mobilise a total of more than $75 billion in public and private funds in the Indo-Pacific region by 2030 in infrastructure development.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary goal of Japan\u2019s visit was to reinforce the centrality of Japan in the emerging geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific. Japan is preparing itself for any unforeseen threat to its own as well as regional security.
