To earn this prestigious status<strong><em>, the site must possess Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) that justifies its inclusion in the World Heritage list.<\/em><\/strong> Ten specific criteria determine the OUV, ensuring that a site represents a masterpiece of human creativity or exhibits unique cultural and historical significance. <strong><em>The nominated site should satisfy at least one of these criteria.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evaluation of the Nomination File is carried out by two prominent bodies: <strong><em>the International Council on Monuments and Sites and the World Conservation Union. <\/em><\/strong>These organizations then present their recommendations to the World Heritage Committee, which meets annually to decide whether a site is inscribed on the World Heritage List. Article 53 of the Geneva Convention unequivocally prohibits any acts of hostility against the historic monuments, works of art, or places of worship that constitute the cultural or spiritual heritage of peoples.
