As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the salary of an entry-level IAS officer, at the Junior Time Scale (JTS), starts at around Rs. 56,100 per month. This includes the basic pay and allowances. As officers progress through the ranks, they move to higher scales such as the Senior Time Scale, Junior Administrative Grade, Selection Grade, Super Time Scale, and Apex Scale. The highest rank an IAS officer can achieve is the Cabinet Secretary at the Apex Scale. Apart from the basic pay, officers are entitled to various allowances, including dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and travel allowance, which contribute to their overall compensation.
