The slogans identify with our agriculture sector and national defense.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Evolution_of_Jai_Jawan\"><\/span><strong>Evolution of Jai Jawan<\/strong>:&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the 1960s, India was facing military aggression from both China and Pakistan.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>The <strong>Indo-China war took place in 1962<\/strong> and Indo-Pak war took place in 1965. India was surrounded by hostile neighbors.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Even the cold war politics was complicating the situation as Pakistan was an ally of the USA. So, India needed a strong army to secure her from foreign aggression.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To boost up the morale of our soldiers <\/strong>and to make it stronger, our Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the slogan Jai Jawan.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Evolution_of_Jai_Kisan\"><\/span><strong>Evolution of Jai Kisan:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the 1960s, India was facing a serious economic crisis.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>India experienced twin draughts. Our economy was mostly dependent on agriculture and in agriculture, we were not self-sufficient.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>We were largely dependent on import of food grains. We had to import PL 480 from the USA.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Green Revolution had not come in yet. So, under the circumstances, to strengthen the hand of the farmers and boost agricultural production the slogan \u2018Jai Kisan\u2019 was given by prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Significance_of_%E2%80%98Jai_Jawan_Jai_Kisan\"><\/span><strong>Significance of \u2018Jai Jawan Jai Kisan\u2019:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Green Revolution was initiated during the trying times, and it helped India in achieving self-sufficiency in the agricultural sector.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>The Indian Army\u2019s morale was restored and the results of the 1965 and the 1971 war, against our arch-rival Pakistan, are a testimony to it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>As a result of which, India emerged as a global power in the sub-continent.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The slogans have evolved over the years.
