He was deeply influenced by the Alvars. He firmly believed that intense devotion to Vishnu was the best means to attain salvation. He propounded the doctrine of Vishishtadvaita.<\/li><li>Vishishtadvaita is formed by the two words: visit meaning qualified and advaita meaning oneness of the individual soul and the Supreme God.
