Alongside fisheries and forestry, agriculture significantly contributes to the nation’s GDP. Currently, the agricultural sector is facing one of its most challenging periods in the last three decades. Approximately 65% of India’s agriculture relies on rainfall, and with over half of the population dependent on farming, insufficient or excessive rainfall always indicates trouble.
