However, some older incinerators didn&#8217;t have a system to separate out harmful or recyclable items before burning.<\/li><li>Even though incineration helps with reducing landfill use, it has some downsides.\u00a0<\/li><li>Burning waste can create a lot of harmful ash and pollute the air and water.
