Born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia, she heeded her calling to devote her life to the service of the poor and marginalized. Through her profound commitment to humanitarian work, Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, an organization that provided care and support to the sick, orphaned, and dying in some of the most impoverished areas of the world. Her profound impact on society transcends borders and religions, earning her widespread acclaim and recognition, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
