replicate Karnataka\u2019s <strong>KC Valley project<\/strong> nationwide to accelerate wastewater reuse.\u00a0<\/li><li>The KC Valley project supplies <strong>treated water<\/strong> <strong>from Bengaluru<\/strong> to fill lakes in dry districts like <strong>Bengaluru Rural<\/strong>, <strong>Kolar<\/strong>, and <strong>Chikkballapura<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><li>The project\u2019s <strong>success in recharging groundwater<\/strong> prompted the Ministry to consider its implementation in other states for <strong>lake rejuvenation<\/strong> with recycled treated water.\u00a0<\/li><li>The Ministry agreed to provide <strong>partial funding<\/strong> to the <strong>KC Valley project<\/strong> under the <strong>Atal Bhujal Yojana<\/strong> to address groundwater depletion nationwide.\u00a0<\/li><li>It suggests upgrading the project for better <strong>tertiary treatment<\/strong> and <strong>bio-remedial treatment<\/strong> of water.\u00a0<\/li><li><em>India generates <\/em><strong><em>72<\/em><\/strong>,<strong><em>368 MLD<\/em><\/strong><em> of wastewater daily<\/em>,<em> according to the <\/em><strong><em>Central Pollution Control Board<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><li><em>The <\/em><strong><em>Sujalam 2<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em><strong><em>0<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>greywater recycling project<\/em><\/strong><em> was recently launched to <\/em><strong><em>reuse kitchen, bathing, and laundry runoff<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Concerns\"><\/span><strong>Concerns:<\/strong>&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Some farmers in Kolar oppose using this treated water, citing concerns about <strong>groundwater quality<\/strong> and <strong>crop health<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Farmers blame treated sewage water for <strong>reduced yields <\/strong>and<strong> pest infestations<\/strong>. They claim increased resistance to pests and fungi since the project\u2019s inception.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Atal_Bhujal_Yojana_ATAL_JAL\"><\/span><strong>Atal Bhujal Yojana (ATAL JAL):<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is a <strong>Central Sector Scheme<\/strong> for facilitating sustainable groundwater management.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Budget<\/strong> Rs. <strong>6000 crore<\/strong>.
