Notably, red lentil imports, primarily from Canada, doubled to 1.2 million tons.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>The waiver of import duties from December onwards also contributed to increased imports of yellow peas from Russia and Turkey.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Traditionally, South Asian nations, including India, import pulses from countries such as Canada, Myanmar, Australia, Mozambique, and Tanzania.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pulses_environmental_conditions\"><\/span><strong>Pulses environmental conditions:<\/strong>&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Temperatures ranging between 20-27\u00b0C and rainfall averaging 25-60 cm, these crops prefer sandy-loamy soil.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Moreover, as leguminous crops, except arhar, they aid in soil fertility restoration by fixing nitrogen.
