Populist measures like loan waivers and free power for farmers impact the financial health of the agricultural sector.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Inadequate R&amp;D Investment:<\/strong> Low investment in agriculture R&amp;D, around 0.5% of agricultural GDP, hampers significant growth. Doubling or tripling R&amp;D investment is crucial for India to excel in agricultural production and exports.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Quality and Standards:<\/strong> Maintaining consistent quality and meeting international standards pose challenges. Variability in quality and compliance issues hinder exports, while meeting SPS Measures is difficult due to pests and diseases.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Infrastructure:<\/strong> Inadequate infrastructure for storage, transportation, and processing results in post-harvest losses, diminishing export competitiveness.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Environmental and Sustainability Concerns:<\/strong> Balancing increased exports with environmental sustainability is challenging.
