<strong>soybean procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP)<\/strong> in four states\u2014Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 oils<\/strong> that undergo several refining processes to remove impurities.\u00a0<\/li><li>These oils are generally considered healthier alternatives to animal fats due to their higher content of <strong>unsaturated fatty acids<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Current Edible Oil Availability<\/strong>\u00a0<ul><li>India contributes <strong>5-6%<\/strong> to the global oilseeds production, with <strong>41.35 million tons<\/strong> (MT) of nine cultivated oilseeds produced in <strong>2022-23<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><li>Exports of <strong>oil meals, oilseeds, and minor oils<\/strong> amounted to <strong>3.46 MT<\/strong> in FY 2022-23, valued at <strong>\u20b914,609 crores<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><li>India is the world\u2019s second-largest consumer and the top importer of vegetable oil, meeting <strong>55-60% <\/strong>of its demand through imports due to a production shortfall.\u00a0<\/li><li>Palm oil accounts for 62% of edible oil imports, mainly from <strong>Indonesia and Malaysia.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Soybean oil (22%)<\/strong> is sourced from Argentina and Brazil, and sunflower <strong>oil (15%) <\/strong>comes from Ukraine and
