Allowance
Along with the salary given to the employees, they'll also get various allowances like Home Rent Allowance, Travel Allowance and Dearness Allowance.
HRA (Home Rent Allowance) provided to the employees usually depends on the area they reside in. It is offered to the employees to help them with their rent. It could vary from 24%-8%.
TA (Travel Allowance) is paid to the employee to cover the costs incurred in travelling for the public interest. It includes the charges incurred in the maintenance of the conveyance as well. A fixed amount is given monthly to the employees depending upon the area he lives in. It ranges from 3,600 in the urban areas to 1,800 in the rural areas.
DA (Dearness Allowance) is paid for securing the employees from the impact of inflation. For handling the cost of living, it is currently fixed at 17% of the basic salary.
