The Selection Process of SSC-CHSL has four steps:

There are a total of 100 Questions with 200 marks present in the paper, two marks are awarded per correct answer, and a 0.50 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. The candidate gets a total of 60 mins to finish the exam.
It is a computer-based online exam. Candidates that qualify for the exam can move on to Tier 2. Rankings are based on the cut-off criteria.
Tier 2 Exam: The tier 2 Exam comprises an Essay Writing and a Letter/Application type content of 50 Marks each. The candidate is offered 1 hour to write the exam.
Rankings in the Tier 2 Exam will also be based on the cut-off criteria.
Tier 3 Exam: After passing the Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exams, candidates are called for the CPT and Skill-based Tests. The purpose of this test is to inquire whether the candidate possesses the real-life skills required for the job.
Document Verification: This is the last and a very crucial stage of the selection of a candidate. Like any other Government Job, this too requires the candidates to present all the official documents for verification. Once the verification is completed, only then can the selection process move any further.
