PSIR as an optional paper requires in-depth knowledge of a topic. A student will be able to better formulate and even suggest a better approach or an alternative solution to complex issues in society and international affairs, if he/she understands it from various perspectives.
This course aims to exactly do that, where our expert will be dissecting a topic to help you understand not only the concepts but also their historical context and evolution including their contemporary meaning and usage. Based on these basic political concepts and ideologies, more complex ideas, and issues will be discussed.
Lectures will culminate with a discussion on questions and how students should write answer in PSIR optional paper. Students will be provided the pdf notes of the lectures to help them revise the topic later.
This course offers in-depth analysis of important topics that are cornerstone to PSIR optional. It also includes complete analysis of issues that are of national and international importance and are relevant for both PSIR optional and GS papers. This course will thus be relevant, and will fill the gaps in knowledge, for all UPSC students who are preparing for UPSC Mains with PSIR as the optional subject.
