Leopards, cheetahs, and jaguars are distinct species of large cats within the Felidae family. While cheetahs belong to the genus Acinonyx, jaguars and leopards fall under the genus Panthera.

The cheetah, belonging to the genera Panthera, Puma, and Acinonyx, is set to become the fifth member of the world’s seven big cats to find a habitat in India.
