Citizen’s Charters in India has the following components:

- Details of grievance redressal mechanism.
- Statements of services including standards, quality, timeframe, etc.
Basic Principles of Citizen’s Charters:
- Quality: Improving the quality of services;

- Value: Value for the taxpayers’ money;
- Accountability: Accountability of individuals and organizations; and
- Transparency: Transparency in rules, procedures, schemes and grievances.
