The UPSC CSE 2022 final result was announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday, revealing Ishita Kishore as the top scorer in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022. The rise of Ishita Kishore has sparked conversations throughout the town, but who is she exactly?
Ishita Kishore holds a degree in economics and graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University in 2017. Following her graduation, she gained experience in risk advisory while working at Ernst & Young. Alongside her professional pursuits, Ishita has also been actively involved in sports and showcased exceptional skills in various disciplines during her school days.
Her journey to success in the UPSC exam was not without challenges. Ishita managed to crack the exam on her third attempt, a remarkable achievement. It was her first time qualifying for the interview round, which is the crucial third stage in the UPSC exam, following the prelims and mains exams.
In her initial two attempts, Ishita was unable to clear the prelims exam of the UPSC. For those unfamiliar with the process, it is necessary to qualify all three stages—the prelims, mains, and interview—to succeed in the UPSC CSE exam.
In addition to her achievements, Kishore is a national-level football player, demonstrating her versatility. She expressed her commitment to women’s empowerment and the upliftment of marginalized individuals in her media interactions. Kishore proudly stated, “I am a national-level football player and had the opportunity to participate in the Subroto Cup football tournament in 2012.”
Hailing from Greater Noida, Kishore cleared the UPSC CSE with political science and international relations as her optional subject. She completed her schooling at Air Force Bal Bharati School in New Delhi, achieving an impressive 97.25 percent in the commerce stream during her Class 12. Following this, she pursued further studies at SRCC (Shri Ram College of Commerce).
During her undergraduate years, Ishita undertook internships with notable organizations such as the CRY Foundation, Housing and Urban Development Corporation, and GAIL Ltd., showcasing her dedication and diverse experiences.
