Mayur Hazarika, a 26-year-old doctor hailing from Assam, has accomplished an extraordinary achievement by securing the fifth rank nationwide in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022, making him the highest-ranked male candidate. Having completed his 12th grade at Ramanujan Junior College in Nagaon, affiliated with the Assam state board, Mayur went on to pursue his MBBS at Guwahati Medical College, graduating in 2020. This was his inaugural attempt at the civil service exams, and he now harbors aspirations of joining the Indian Foreign Services.

Mayur Hazarika, despite having a longstanding fascination with foreign affairs, initially opted for the medical field due to a lack of guidance on pursuing a career in civil services. However, his interest in foreign diplomacy and international relations grew during his third or fourth year of medical school, prompting him to contemplate attempting the foreign services.

His academic background boasts noteworthy achievements, having secured ranks in both the Higher Secondary (HS) and High School (HSCL) examinations, showcasing his consistent academic excellence.
