Aditya Srivastava, an IIT Kanpur grad with a dual BTech/MTech degree, landed a job at a Bengaluru private company. (This version emphasizes Aditya’s qualifications and achievement) A dinosaur enthusiast at heart, Aditya Srivastava, the 26-year-old UPSC 2023 topper from Lucknow, has always been fascinated by these magnificent extinct creatures.
“Seeing the results was a shock! It took a while to believe it. Ranking first wasn’t even a dream. My only hope was to crack the Indian Administrative Services. Topping the exam is unbelievable! There was a small celebration with my hostel mates in Hyderabad. I’m excited to reach Lucknow on April 22nd,” he said.
Aditya Srivastava offered valuable advice to UPSC aspirants: a balance between focused effort and diligence is key. Regular writing practice is essential for success. Elated by the news, Aditya’s father, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, who works at the CAG office, shared, “Aditya Srivastava called from Hyderabad to tell us. We knew he’d excel in UPSC this year, but topping it? That’s incredible! We’re incredibly proud.”
An IIT Kanpur graduate with a dual degree, Aditya Srivastava initially landed a high-paying job in Bengaluru (₹40 lakh p.a.). But after a year and a half, he decided to pursue his civil service dream, his father recounted with pride.
Despite initial challenges, Aditya persevered in his dream of a civil service career. Though his first attempt at the UPSC while working proved unsuccessful, his determination grew. Quitting his Bengaluru job, he focused entirely on the UPSC 2022 exam, securing a place in the Indian Police Service. “An IAS officer was always his goal,” Aditya’s father shared, “This year, he decided to give it his all. He told us this would be his final attempt. We’re incredibly proud to see his dream come true. His decision to leave his job was a difficult one, but we fully supported him.” Aditya’s educational journey began at City Montessori School, Aliganj branch, where he graduated in 2014. That same year, he cracked the JEE exam, earning a coveted spot at IIT Kanpur.
