UPSC Recruitment Notification 2021

Due to the recent nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, a new UPSC notification has been released declaring the change in the preliminary examination date from June 27, 2021, to October 10, 2021. The previously scheduled Mains Exam on September 17 has been postponed indefinitely, and UPSC has yet to announce the revised exam dates.

The UPSC notification for Civil Services Examination applications was delayed by 22 days and was published on March 4, 2021, rather than February 10, 2021. The last date for filling up the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) was March 24, 2021, by 6 PM.

For the UPSC recruitment 2021, 712 vacancies have been released to compete amongst the mass. There haven't been any significant changes in the pattern, syllabus, and eligibility criteria for the upcoming examination.

Eligibility Criteria

The UPSC defined their eligibility criteria for the 2021 Civil Services Examination, and there were no changes from the previous year's guidelines. Candidates must ensure that the information they enter on the online form is clear and correct. They should determine whether or not they meet the UPSC's eligibility requirements. Generally, the I.A.S. eligibility criteria have been categorized into the following classifications:

    5. A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Note: The candidate should meet the age criterion as of August 1, 2021, and should not be less than 21 years old and more than 32 years, and the candidate must not be born any earlier than August 2, 1989, and any later than August 1, 2000.

Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must be a graduate from a recognized university.

  • There are no minimum percentage or qualifying marks specified for appearing in the examination.

  • Condition for Doctors: Candidates who are MBBS graduates and are yet to complete their internship until the release of UPSC applications can provisionally appear for the exam with a letter approved and given by the university authority stating that they have passed their final exams.

UPSC Notification 2021: How to Apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam?

The UPSC notification contains all of the information about the Civil Services Exam that a candidate should be aware of, before applying for the I.A.S. test. Since the UPSC forms can’t be edited, candidates must fill out their applications carefully and following the instructions provided below:

  1. I. Applicants should fill the application from the official website https://upsconline.nic.in/.

  2. II. Explore the UPSC Civil Services Examination link

  3. III. The candidates must click on the link where they will have to fill the Part-I registration form. The Part-I form requires a candidate to fill in basic details like Name, D.O.B., Category, Contact details, etc.

  4. IV. After the Part-I registration is done, a unique code or number will be generated, which will be used to fill Part-II registration.

  5. V. Completion of all the form filling will then lead to the final submission.

UPSC CSE Application Fees 2021

Candidates who fill the UPSC CSE exam application will have to pay the fees for the forms. The Online Recruitment Application allows the candidates to make the payment through online or offline mode.

  • Online mode: Candidates who clear the UPSC Prelims and Mains are qualified for the final phase of the UPSC Personality Test/Interview.

  • Offline mode: The objective of interview is to assess the suitability of the candidate for a career in the Civil Services Sector.
