Perumbavoor is the place where IAS PB Nooh was born, this place is situated near Ernakulum district in Kerala itself and PB Nooh completed his schooling at a public school from this place as well, which is his hometown.

The incredible IAS officer PB Nooh completed his graduation in Bangalore from the University of Agricultural Science.
After completing his graduation, Nooh started to prepare for his civil service exam, that is UPSC, and also managed to achieve great marks and 48th rank in the year 2012.
What was IAS PB Nooh’s greatest inspiration?
PB Nooh was not the first of his family members to join the civil service PB Nooh got his biggest inspiration from his brother P.B Saleem who is also a civil servant.
PB Nooh and his brother are not the only ones, they had 5 other siblings and were 7 brothers and sisters in total.
PB Nooh’s parents owned a small convenience and grocery store in the district of Ernakulum district.

- He managed many emergencies in Kerala like the floods, protests, and other riots, as well. He gained a lot of recognition for his brave attitude and management skills in various problematic situations. Kerala floods and Sabarimala protests were significant events where he held his ground tight and bravely dealt with the situation.
- IAS PB Nooh took active participation in disaster management during the severe floods that hit the Pathanamthitta region in Kerala, from visiting the families to assisting the management team PB Nooh kept checking on all of those and this made him particularly favorite among the locals of Pathanamthitta.
- Kerala was one of the first hubs for the covid 19 variants and it was very challenging to deal with the panic and commotions around and was one of the challenging times faced by IAS PB Nooh but this time he surely proved that he knew his people and what took full responsibility of the situations, had as much as transparency with the public and the people in Kerala had faith over him.
- The journey has not been a cakewalk but still, IAS PB Nooh kept his head high and a smile on his face and never feared facing any situation, which indeed helped him gain the trust and love of all the people, and also, he got praised by many recognized officers as for his optimistic vision and problem-solving attitude.
During a routine restructure in the system, where a particular IAS doesn’t serve the same place for more than a particular assigned time, he was posted to another district that was Palakkad, in this scenario, the collectors of Pathanamthitta and Palakkad were interchanged and so PB Nooh had to switch his duties with the cooperative Registrar Narasimhugari TL Reddy. On the day of departure, IAS PB Nooh bid his farewell to his people and that made all of them say they thanked him and praised him for the service he provided, the disaster management he carried, and the covid 19 measures he implied on the district were commendable and they would never forget his incredible journey and his battle with the deadly virus.
PB Nooh also made a post on his private profile and mentioned his goodbye by writing
“Good-bye, Time to go. Will miss you all!”
What is the current posting of IAS PB Nooh?
According to recent papers and reports, PB Nooh has been posted as the additional chief electoral officer and additional secretary in the election department during the elections for better commencements of the elections in the Kerala state legislative in 2021.
Relief operations during the greatest flood.
Back in the year 2018 when a disastrous flood hit the district of Pathanamthitta the scenario was unimaginable, that was one of the biggest floods the state had witnessed in the last century.
During this time, as the collector, Nooh took charge and evacuated almost 15 lakh people from various parts and helped them with the relief services.
To assist him in this situation the state government also sent IAS Harikishore who was the former collector of the same district both of them worked hand and hand for the safety and well-being of the people.
Both the IAS Nooh and Harikishore worked their best to provide their people, from managing the control rooms to the onsite damage control they did not leave any stone of work unturned, both of them worked 20hrs a day until the situation was under control and the people were safe.
Sabarimala Riots
After the floods were managed, still it was not the end of the problems in the district of Pathanamthitta, later that year there was a verdict passed by the supreme court, allowing the entry of young girls into Sabarimala, this was an issue of religion and emotions and this case followed several riots of the locals as well, but collector PB Nooh was able to maintain his calm and manage the crowds of emotionally hurting people.
But all of it was taken care of with new orders imposed and most of it was under control.
These were some of the major events and disasters managed by the brave PB Nooh other than these there were other events such as the Lok Sabha polls and after that, the second flood followed once again.
Now one might think that these tiring days must be over but that was not it, covid 19 was on its way to messing up all over the country again.
Good-Bye to Pathanamthitta
“It’s been an incredible journey, lots of tiring days, sleepless nights, and challenges were in the way, but the people here are so cooperative and always supported the government in all the measures and orders that were implied.”
In one of the interviews, IAS PB Nooh mentioned that whenever he was tired and overwhelmed with his work he used to get out of his office and take a toll around, have small talks and interactions with the local people and this activity helped him to focus again and he also got a huge relief after talking to them and hearing how efficiently the government in their district is working and they are very much contented.
IAS Nooh used to take the same path to return which he used to go to the office, that evening walk used to give him so much pleasure that he mentioned most of his tension and work pressure were released with that walk.
Lastly while leaving PB Nooh also mentioned that if he ever gets a chance to return to his beloved district Pathanamthitta, he would not miss that opportunity as all of his relatives are there and he loves the people over there dearly and has a lot of fond memories in that very place.
