That is when Deepak decided to crack the UPSC exam and become an IAS officer. Even if not, he would pursue his career in journalism but in the end, his first choice became his ambition.

Deepak Rawat’s life was not a smooth one. He has faced many challenges in life. The most struggling period of his life was when failed at his first UPSC attempt. Yes, Deepak Rawat made multiple attempts at the UPSC exam. He in all total took the UPSC exam four times.
The thought of taking the UPSC exam first came to his mind when Deepak was in college. While Deepak Rawat was doing his graduation, he decided to take the UPSC exam inspired by his friends from Bihar. So, Deepak started preparing for the UPSC exam whilst doing his post-graduation.

According to rank, he was selected as an IRS Officer, not an IAS. So he prepared for the UPSC exam again and sat for the exam in 2007. This time his hard work paid off and he qualified for the UPSC exam with an amazing AIR 12.
